Montana Channel Migration Zone Projects - Clark Fork from the Bitterroot River to Huson

The Clark Fork, Bitterroot to Huson CMZ was completed in 2009. Approximately 20 miles of the Clark Fork River were mapped from the Bitterroot River confluence to the Six Mile Creek confluence near Huson. The project resulted in a refined process for developing channel migration zones and a map of the CMZ and avulsion hazard areas for this section of the river. The project was sponsored by Missoula County. The work was performed by Applied Geomorphology and DTM Consulting.
